Future Climate Temp USA Map | St Louis Renewable Energy

FORECASTED STLOUIS SUMMER TEMPS YEAR 2100

Do You plan on Living in StLouis Region in 2100?  If you do, prepare to be 9.84 degrees warmer in the Summer months.

The average temperature is projected to rise from the current average summer temp of 86.85 degrees to 96.69 degrees.

Climate Change will cause the Average Temp of close to 100 degrees every Summer Day for StLouis in 2100

This means that it will be like living in Pharr, Texas 1,100 plus miles away close to the USA Mexico Border  that has an average temp of 96.69 degrees.

Whats this mean for Missourians?  Have you ever visited Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona?  Remember the scenery of the High Plains Desert?

Will this be the new look of Missouri in 2100 after climate change causes Ave Summer temperature to rise 9.84 degrees? see the image and climate change map at the Green Blog

Will Missouri Farmland look like the High Plains Desert Regions when Climate Change causes increased temperatures?
Will this be the new look of Missouri in 2100 after climate change causes Ave Summer temperature to rise 9.84 degrees?

Whats this mean for the Missouri Farmers and Ranchers?  Per lessons I learned from the ” Rotational Grazing ” Practices in locations like Arizona that average 15 acres to raise a beef animal, (compared to the Missouri average of 5 acres needed to raise a beef animal).  The cost of beef will increase even more  since Missouri Ranchers and Farmers will not be able to raise as many cattle per acre.

Still think climate change doesn’t or won’t affect the State of Missouri?  What will you eat in the Future when nothing will grow on our Farmlands?

2 Universities in DC Make Deal to Buy Solar Power – ABC News

Old Dog New Tricks? hidden in the text: #DukeEnergyRenewables . “Whats this I asked?” I know Duke Energy is known for #DirtyCoal a quick search led me to a page that downplays the Dirty Coal aspects of their company and preaches clean energy.

What I found most interesting is: ” This Dirty Coal company has jumped on the #Solar bandwagon-which means that even dirty energy has realized the importance of clean energy production from non-polluting sources.” Further proof that #SolarEnergy has been adopted as the wave of the Future.

Even here in #StLouis the local #DirtyCoal company #Ameren is building a big solar energy plant. Once again proof that #cleanenergy from solar is both profitable for the owner and is the Future!

Solar Power Feedlot Sun Shade

SolarPower Feed Bunk Cover Shade

Do you have a Livestock Feedlot?  Have you ever considered a Solar Power Feed Bunk Cover Shade for your feedlot?  With a clean energy solar system such this CAD Solar System design by Scotty you will be not only providing cover and shade for your livestock when they are feeding, it will generate income from the Sun for your operation.

The Solar Feed Bunk Cover Shade in these pictures is designed with American SunPower Solar Panels, covers 4000 sq feet, and is estimated to produce 59,680 watts of clean pollution free energy (based on 230w panels that produce 14.92 w/sq ft- (Other higher Output power producing solar panels are available-I used the 230w solar panels since they were already integrated into my computer drafting program from past Solar Projects I’ve designed.  To get the most bang for the buck I recommend the 300 or 400 watt solar panels )

The following CAD designs are examples of the Solar Power Feedbunk Cover – Shade designed by Scotts Contracting-StLouis Renewable Energy that could be added to your existing structure or could be site built to fit your cattle feeding operation.  This example uses my Fathers Missouri Beef Cattle Operation.

Wars over Oil-Im sick of it

Sick and Tired of my Brothers and Sisters being hurt or killed for OIL

TO ALL THE SOLDIERS THAT WERE INJURED AND DIED IN #WARSOVEROIL I’M TRULY SORRY THAT OUR GOVERNMENT EFFORTS LED BY #REPUBLICANLIES BY #REPUBLICANWARMONGERS PUT YOU IN THIS SITUATION.

US Soldiers saving fellow soldier in battle over OIL
photo copied from fellow Blogger

Did anyone else see the#lateshowwithdavidletterman last night 3/3/14  with the #Army #Soldier ?  If you didn’t see the show here is the You Tube Video

Props to the Medical Team and the Soldiers positive attitude.

Here is a Youtube video link of the interview with David Leterman

Edited and copied from G+ post: now that I’m back on my comp I’ll add a little more to what I felt was one of the best interviews of the past few months.  This Soldier was injured when a roadside bomb exploded by the truck he was in- and his arms and legs were amputated because of the damage.

It was reported that those Kick-Ass doctors performed double arm reattachment from Donor supplied body parts.  Though the #USARMY Soldier was in a wheel chair during the show, they have been working with him to fit him with some new legs and in a few months they expect him to be going about New York on foot and not needing the wheel chair!

I’ll be honest this #WarHero has a better attitude than I do.  I don’t know if I could have kept the positive attitude after loosing my arms and legs. During the commercial I commented to my girl that his ordeal was what #Metalica wrote and sang about years ago with the Hit Song ONE.    Luckily and thankfully Medical Science is helping him and others that were injured fighting a #WarOverOil in a land far away.

I’d like to point out that the USA has the know-how and technology to limit and reduce the amount of Oil we consume and are forced to buy from the Middle East.  I feel this is a step in limiting the resources that these Countries have and are using to kill and hurt the American Soldiers.

To put it simply: Limiting the cash flow will lessen the amount of $$$ they can spend fighting and if the USA is not dependent upon foreign oil we will become a sustainable nation once again .

To all the Soldiers that were injured in #WarsOverOil–I’m truly sorry that our Government efforts led by#republicanlies by #RepublicanWarMongers put you in this situation.

For everyone who says I’m a peace sympathizer or whatever. I joined the Army Long ago to fight in what I thought was going to be a showdown with Iran during the Iran-Contra Affair.   Yeah I was young & dumb and thought the USA was always right.

This week, the Western media has, in a fashion, been covering the political crisis in Ukraine with growing interest. While the storm over the steppes has been brewing since November 2013, it has grown to crisis proportions during recent weeks. The growth and severity of the crisis has been sudden, but it has in no way been accidental.

Critical events are occurring at such a rapid pace as to render any published analysis out of date by the time even the speediest editors can post it.

Critical events are occurring at such a rapid pace as to render any published analysis out of date by the time even the speediest editors can post it. Nonetheless, the outcome of the conflict in the Ukrainian Republic will have far reaching consequences for Ukrainians and for much of the Eurasian continent. To a lesser, but still significant degree, secondary political and economic consequences will be felt across the world.

Though the media reporting usually presents the Ukraine in its own vacuum, outside factors have heavily influenced the present…

Since the Hemp Home Designs are all about Sustainability.  Why wouldn’t the pool be as well and while we are at building a natural pool we might as well incorporate a fish habitat into the natural pool design.  This will allow the pool to serve as a food source in addition to the entertainment value.

Tips for natural pools supplied by Mother Earth News

Design Information

  • Reserving at least 50 percent of your pool’s surface area for shallow plants, either at one end or in a ring around the sides, eliminates the need for chlorine and expensive filters and pumps. You’ll want to separate the swimming area of your pool and the filtration area, or plant zone (see the illustration in the image gallery).
  • The water needs to circulate continuously for the plants’ roots to cleanse the pool. You also may need to aerate the water so the water organisms’ oxygen needs are met.
Without adequate oxygen, your pool could become stagnant, harboring odoriferous anaerobic bacteria.
  • Besides cleaning the water and making your pool beautiful to behold, the shallow plant zone warms the water quickly and provides habitat for frogs and many invertebrates. They’ll appreciate the shallow water for breeding grounds and repay the favor by eating mosquito larvae.

  • A rim within an inch of the water’s surface keeps plants in their place but allows water from the swimming area to move to the plant zone for filtering, As water passes through the fibrous root structure of the plants, bacteria concentrated on the plants’ roots act as a biological filter, removing contaminants and excess nutrients in the water. Decomposer organisms, also found in the plants’ root zones, consume the bacteria, effectively eliminating underwater waste buildup.

I appreciate all the medicinal applications of Cannabis

but what really turns my crank is the uses of the Industrial

Cannabis or Industrial Hemp products: Food, Fuel, Building

Products, etc.  I’ve been focusing my efforts on the

Hemp + Lime mixture that some people call #Hempcrete

used in making buildings energy efficient naturally.

As an example of this great product I’ve made a few CAD

drawings as well as posted You Tube Videos to use as an

example to create ansustainable energy efficient home with Hemp

Background on Industrial Hemp Building:

Builders have been building Homes and Commercial Buildings using this design in Europe for many years now. With the legalization of Industrial Hemp in the USA. Now Americans can adopt this Sustainable Building practice into our designs to create homes that can grow and be built in 2 years.

In this example of Hemp Building I’ve eliminated much of the excess lumber that is not needed in the build because of the Post Frame Structure. When the Natural Lime and Hemp Fibers are mixed together it creates a concrete like material that is also high in insulation value- you get the best of both worlds:

  • A strong and durable Building that is also energy efficient that can withstand the abuse from the elements.
  • This Natural product that can also be grown most anywhere in the USA.

Thank you for checking out the CAD designs on the use of Industrial Hemp for creating an Energy Efficient Home.

If I can assist you in your quest to design or build using this type of construction technique utilizing hemp or other natural green building products drop me a line and let me know. Scotty

Hemp Home Post Frame Lateral Loading

Hemp Home Design Post Frame Structure Wind and Earthquake Resistant Design by Scotty
Hemp Home Design-Post Frame Structure-Wind and Earthquake Resistant

Post Frame Wood Structure Design-Industrial Hemp Wall Construction

Its all about Energy Efficiency and Conserving Natural Resources when using a Post Frame Building option with the added benefit: Post Frame Buildings are also Wind and Earthquake Resistant.

  •  Lateral Loading caused by Severe Storms and Earthquakes
    • The design of buildings must account for wind loads, and these are affected by wind shear. For engineering purposes, a power law wind speed profile may be defined as follows:

power law wind speed profile may be defined as follows

      where:

      \ v_{z} = speed of the wind at height \ z
      \ v_{g} = gradient wind at gradient height \ z_{g}
      \ \alpha  = exponential coefficient
Post Frame - Lateral Design - Building Diaphragm
Post Frame provides lateral load resistance, creating a unique building diaphragm that makes the light wood frame comparable in strength to light steel and concrete structures.

Summing all the above  information up:  Lateral Loading on a Building is the pressure caused by Wind on the Sides and Roof of a Building.  Which is especially important to me since the buildings location will be in the Midwest which is also Tornado Alley and I do not want to be forced to rebuild after a Severe Storm.

Rear Stair Way for Rooftop Access is also the addition of a Modified Flying Buttress that resists the lateral forces pushing a wall outwards (which may arise from stone vaulted ceilings or from wind-loading on roofs) by redirecting the Lateral Forces to the ground.
Rear Stair Way for Rooftop Access is also the addition of a Modified Flying Buttress that resists the lateral forces pushing a wall outwards (which may arise from stone vaulted ceilings or from wind-loading on roofs) by redirecting the Lateral Forces to the ground.

What the untrained eye might see as a Rear Stair Way for Rooftop Access is also the addition of a Modified Buttress that resists the lateral forces pushing a wall outwards (which may arise from stone vaulted ceilings or from wind-loading on roofs) by redirecting the Lateral Forces to the ground.

  • buttress is an architectural structure built against or projecting from a wall which serves to support or reinforce the wall. Buttresses are fairly common on more ancient buildings, as a means of providing support to act against the lateral (sideways) forces arising out of the roof structures that lack adequate bracing.

HEMP Building Expert: Mr. Greg Flavall Co-Founder / Technical Director Hemp-Technologies

Replied to My Question on Hemp Building:

I’m designing a Hempcrete home and have been looking into a Catalan Style Spanish Roof for a roof system that does not require lumber. Do you think a hempcrete product would replace the concrete the spanish masons use? I’ve started a series of articles on the planned build at: http://stlouisrenewableenergy.com/2014/02/05/hemp-home-catalan-vaulted-style-roof-waterproofing/

Mr. Greg Flavall Co-Founder / Technical Director Hemp-Technologies Answered:

“”having looked at your website and design I’m intrigued. Although we have not done this style of roof I do not see what lime could not do the same as cement in this application- if it were sealed correctly.  Typically we are using Hemp/Lime for walls which is covered with 15-20mm of lime plaster for weather protection on a vertical plane. We install hemp/lime under the roof where it is protected as insulation and in the floor (above grade only) where it can breathe.””

Why would you not consider a green roof cover in this style, much like the Adnams Brewery project in UK completed in 2008? Seems to me a better use of area.
